As mentioned in my previous post, I’m working on posting more regularly. So I’ve decided to add this Life Lately series. My plan is to include, at least weekly, some of the things that are going on in my life, what I’m working on, learning, listening to, and general catching-up types of things.
Today, I’d like to start with prayers for the people in California whose lives have been devastated by the uncontainable wildfires and for others across the nation who have been dealing with the disastrous freezing cold weather. The devastation has dominated our news cycle lately, and I pray God’s help and protection for all those affected by these unprecedented and unexpected conditions.
In my personal life, I have been working on adding my first project to my portfolio as a new data analyst. It’s been a lot of work and an uphill battle at times, but I was so proud to be close to finishing my first project. That is, until I found out that my file was corrupted! Yes…I tried everything I knew – with no success at opening the file.🥺😡😢 Is there a yelling emoji? There should be a yelling emoji.
Well, sometimes life gives you lemons and things don’t work out the way you want them to. You have no idea how disappointed and frustrated I was, but I understand that I’ll need to learn how to do this many times over and quickly, so I had to roll up my sleeves – huh – and redo the project.😧
I’d like to say that all went smoothly, but initially, it didn’t. Eventually, I picked up some momentum again, and surprisingly, it actually went rather quickly. I’m not finished, but I’m much further along than I expected to be in such a short period of time. I cannot tell you how good it feels to know that I was able to reconstruct my lost work much more easily than I thought.
Overall, it’s been a pretty slow time, especially because of the cold weather. However, I would like to end on a lighter note. I ran across this relaxing picture in the Chrome extension I use, called ‘With A View’. I really like it because every time you open a tab in Chrome, it shows a new picture of some travel destination, hotel, etc. Sometimes there’s even a video – which is cool, but also distracting if you really want to watch it. Anyway, today there was a picture of the most beautiful hotel in Bali! The program also provides a link for more info about the picture. I wanted to share one of the pictures with you today. Simply beautiful!
